TROY, Ala. (TROJANVISION) — The Symphony Band filled Claudia Crosby Theater with music as the ensemble performed their latest concert.
Hours of practice, both in full rehearsals and in sectionals, came together on stage. For the musicians, it was the result of weeks of preparation and dedication.
“There was a lot of hard work that went into making this concert possible,” said senior flautist Kyla Wells. “We had times where members had to practice by themselves, in sections, and as a full band to pull it all together.”
In the crowd, family and friends showed their support for the performers.

“I’m an instrumentalist myself, and I know how hard it can be to put on a production like this,” said audience member Rachel Horne. “I came to see my son perform today, and I’m just so proud of the work the musicians are doing. I try to come to as many concerts as I can.”
As the final notes rang out, both performers and audience members left with a sense of pride in the music and in the tradition of the Symphony Band.
The John M. Long School of Music continues to showcase Troy University’s musical talent with performances throughout the year.
