The name of the “Boy from Troy” is now a major part of the campus of TROY. Crews removed the old letters from the former Bibb Graves Hall to add the lettering for John Robert Lewis Hall on October 1st.
The building was renamed in honor of the Pike County native and civil rights icon by the Troy University Board of Trustees in September. One of congressman’s official memorial services was held on the Troy campus.
“He definitely deserves it,” said TROY student Sydney Elston.”I hate that he’s not here to see that it happened but it’s super exciting and it brings a nice change to TROY and to help unify everybody as a whole.”
