Troy University’s new Police Chief looks to rid campus of abandoned bikes

Abandoned bikes will no longer litter the Troy University campus.

Troy University’s new Chief of University Police, George Beaudry, is cleaning up in his first weeks on the job initiating an effort to rid the campus of old and abandoned bikes.

It was inspired by seeing a rusty abandoned bike chained up behind the campus police station.

“I’m having a conversation with some of the other officers on campus, and they told me that there’s probably 16 to 17 bicycles that are in similar condition spread throughout the campus,” said Beaudry. ”So that kind of made me think we take this opportunity to clean up the campus.”
