20-year-old Dejuane Lamar Washington and 18-year-old Keifer Jayden Walker are charged with murder. 18-year-old Parker Hughes Thompson is charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance and conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance.

In a statement, Troy University said all three students have been suspended from the University and barred from campus.

Thompson is held with a $1,500 bond for his possession charge and a $5,000 bond for his conspiracy charge. Washington and Walker are held without bond pending an Aniah’s Law hearing – an Alabama constitutional amendment that allows judges to deny pre-trial bail for people charged with violent crimes.

According to a Troy Police Department release, officers responded to a report that someone may have been shot near the 600 block of Elm Street at 10:41 p.m. on Oct. 29.

Officers found Miller unresponsive with an apparent gunshot wound and attempted life-saving measures. Those attempts were unsuccessful.
