On Monday morning Troy University began giving COVID-19 vaccinations to students.
College-aged student are now eligible for the vaccine after Governor Kay Ivey expanded requirements for vaccinations to Alabamians aged 16 and up on Friday.
Troy University still had a limited number of first doses of the Moderna vaccine available on campus for TROY student to get vaccinated.
The university is encouraging students to get vaccinated in order to help the campus to return to normal after a year of COVID restrictions.
However the university reminds students they are required to get their second dose at the same location as their first. Since it takes 28 days between doses of the Moderna vaccine, if a student wants to be vaccinated on campus they need to do so soon so that they can get their second dose before going home for the summer.
To set up an appointment for vaccination students will need to visit https://covid.troy.edu/
