Middle and high school students from across the Southeast were trying to solve some of the world’s problems using robots.
Troy University and Wiregrass BEST held the Troy University BEST Robotics competition in Trojan Arena on Saturday.
“Our teams were presented with a mission to accomplish a task of demolishing a building as well as other things that you would see in a demolition site to make sure that site is safe and effectively using robots to make sure that task is completed,” says Wiregrass BEST Director Stephen Tsukuda.
BEST is a non-profit organization with the mission to help students who wish to pursue careers in STEM.
“What we’re trying to do is to get children to be able to not only think outside of the box but also to prepare them for the workforce that they will be going into within the next few years,” says Tsukuda.
