Learning Center offers advice, assistance as final exams approach

TROY, Ala. (TROJANVISION) — With exams on their way, some students are getting stressed about those big tests and how they can prepare.

Student Taylor Phillips said she expects finals weeks to be very challenging.

“I’m a science major and I have a lot of biology and chemistry and different classes that I have to study for,” Phillips explained.

Phillips isn’t alone. Student Marcelles Martin is also working to find ways to reduce his stress.

“Some of the things that I do is try to go to the rec center to work out or even just take walks,” Martin said. ‘I have a dog take a dog for a walk or just go walking by myself and just listen to music.”

TROY’s Learning Center Coordinator Rebecca Money Normans has advice students can use ahead of finals week.

“I am more of the persuasion that you don’t wait until you get into that stress mode,” Money Normans said. “Go ahead and start developing strategies so that you will be prepared when you have to really get into that crunch mode.”

Money Normans also suggests visiting the Learning Center for additional help.

“When they have a hard time studying for exams and don’t know where to go, definitely come to the Troy Campus Learning Center because we have peer tutors here who are willing to help.”

You can visit the Learning Center at room 126 in Eldridge Hall.
