TROY, Ala. (TROJANVISION) — As the clocks spring forward, the time has come for Troy Football to get back into rhythm with spring practice.
“If we love what we are doing, which we certainly do and I do, it should feel like day one,” said head coach Gerad Parker. “I thought it was very spirited.
“The juice was up this morning when we got here. Time change kept it dark a little longer this morning, so we all got in on time. I thought our guys did a great job coming out here and setting the standard in a hurry of what this should be a what it moves like.”
After an 8-6 season in 2025, the Trojans look to improve as they welcome new additions to the staff, including a new offensive coordinator, Adam Austin.
“What we do know is he certainly fits in here at Troy with us,” Parker told TrojanVision. “He’s a worker. He’s got a great work ethic, he’s a great communicator and teacher.

“He has built a bond with the offensive staff and players.”
“He’s been awesome,” said veteran quarterback Goose Crowder. “He brings a great youthful energy to the group.
“He’s very excited, very passionate. A new offensive scheme so there some speed bumps but we are figuring it out.”
With no spring transfer portal window, Parker says coaching staff have been able to cement their roster for the season. He also said it’s a relieving feeling to know who will be taking the field for the next season for the Trojans.
“I think for staff and players it just removes some anxieties and concerns and worries about futures of your team and your career as a player,” Parker said. “I just think, knowing they’re here, knowing this is where we all are going to be to share a season together.
“It gives you some confidence, some comfort in knowing what we want to do to attack each day.”
As the Trojans work to build in the spring season, they hope to be “Battle Ready” in the Vet come September.
