Students who have graduated from Troy University’s Department of Art and Design this spring will have their final projects displayed in the Huo Bao Zhu Gallery at the International Arts Center (IAC).

The Senior Thesis Exhibit opened on May 15 with a reception and award ceremony. Emily Beaudry, a Graphic Design major from Montgomery, won the Dean’s Award for her exhibit Cozy Creations. Dr. Kenyon Holder, Lecturer of Art and Design, received the Faculty Member of the Year award, which is voted on by the students.

“The thesis exhibition is a special opportunity for our community to witness the impressive talents of our students and to appreciate the projects they’ve dedicated themselves to over the past semester—projects that represent the culmination of years of hard work and academic commitment,” said Carrie Jaxon, Director and Curator for the IAC.

Chris Stagl, Assistant Chair for the department of Art and Design, said that the incredible display of work features a very diverse group of projects.

“This semester’s showcase features many thoughtful, well-crafted, and engaging projects that our students can leverage to help themselves find their way into the industry and ultimately help them in securing gainful employment,” he said.

The exhibition will remain in the gallery until September 3.
