Troy University has been named among the best colleges and universities in the southern United States by The Princeton Review for the 21st straight year.
TROY was one of only 109 colleges and universities to receive the designation in the 10-state southern region. In all, The Princeton Review recognized 631 colleges and universities in seven zones – Mid-Atlantic, Midwest, Northeast, South, Southwest, West and International.
“The most important thing we do at Troy University is serve our students,” said Dr. Jack Hawkins, Jr., Chancellor. “Our faculty and staff are committed to providing excellence in academics and student service. I believe those values resonate with our students and are at the heart of this recognition from The Princeton Review over the last two decades.”
A leading tutoring, test preparation and college admissions services company, The Princeton Review has been listing colleges and universities annually in various categories for more than 30 years.
TROY’s inclusion is the result of a survey that asks students to rate their schools in several areas and report on their experiences. Areas included: academics/administration, campus life, fellow students and their own experiences. Surveys are conducted on campus and via The Princeton Review website, at which students have the option of completing a secure survey online.
The recognition from The Princeton Review is just the latest accolade the University has received. Earlier this year, Niche.com ranked TROY as its 20th best online college in the country and the best online college in Alabama. OnlineU.com included TROY on its 2025 list of the Best Military Friendly Online Colleges, and Research.com placed TROY among its 2025 Best Colleges in America.
