Rosser-Mims named Vice Chancellor of Troy University’s Montgomery Campus

Dr. Dionne Rosser-Mims' appointment as Vice Chancellor of Troy University's Montgomery Campus became effective at the beginning of January.

Dr. Dionne Rosser-Mims, an administrator and member of the Troy University faculty since 2007, has been named Vice Chancellor of the University’s Montgomery Campus. The appointment became effective Jan. 1.

A full professor in adult education and global leadership, Rosser-Mims most recently served as Vice Chancellor of the University’s Phenix City Campus. She also has previously served TROY as an Interim Site Director, Interim District Director and Associate Director of Academics within the University’s Global Campus operations, Assistant Department Chair, and Associate Dean and Dean of the College of Education.

“Troy University has benefited greatly from Dr. Rosser-Mims’ expertise and experience since she arrived as a member of our faculty in 2007,” said Dr. Jack Hawkins, Jr., Chancellor. “She will serve our students, faculty and staff and the community well.”

Rosser-Mims Mims delivered the 2024 TEDx talk “Embracing a Purpose Driven Life,” inspiring audiences to lead with intention, courage, and service. She is the recipient of the 2021 International Leadership Association Outstanding Established Scholar Award and the 2013 Wallace D. Malone, Jr. Distinguished Faculty Award, among other distinctions. She is currently completing the International Association of Universities Executive Leadership Fellowship.

An accomplished scholar, she has authored four books, published more than 15 scholarly works, and co-founded a peer-reviewed, open-access publication.

“I am honored to serve as Vice Chancellor of the Montgomery Campus and look forward to working with our team and community partners to expand access to innovative programs that meet the needs of today’s learners and workforce,” Rosser-Mims said.  “This role represents an incredible opportunity to build on Troy University’s tradition of excellence while positioning the Montgomery Campus as a hub for academic innovation and engagement.”

Rosser-Mims holds a Ph.D. in adult education and a master’s in public administration from the University of Georgia.

She is happily married to her husband of 24 years, DeCarlton, and together they proudly support their daughter Gabrielle, a Troy University student majoring in psychology with minors in criminal justice and interpersonal communications.
