The Chancellor’s Invitational Golf Tournament celebrated its 25th anniversary in September, and the Troy University Alumni Association’s 2025 Christmas ornament is commemorating that milestone anniversary.

The tournament, which is held each September at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail’s Capitol Hill course in Prattville, benefits the John W. Schmidt Student Ministries Fund, which supports faith-based programs for students and student athletes at TROY. In 2021, the tournament surpassed the $1 million mark in funds raised.
This year’s ornament, which is now available for purchase, is round and features a TROY-themed golf course image in the middle. Ornaments were presented to representatives of the sponsors for this year’s tournament, Troy Bank & Trust and SS&L Architects.
Now in its 26th year of production, the alumni Christmas ornament has become a prized annual addition to the decorations of Trojan alumni and friends. Designed for the TROY Alumni Association by Beacon Design by ChemArt, the ornaments depict special moments throughout the University’s history.
Faith Byrd, Director of Alumni Affairs, said the ornaments provide an opportunity to highlight important events in the life of the University.
“We are so excited to be able to feature the Chancellor’s Invitational Golf Tournament as this year’s ornament,” Byrd said. “For 25 years, proceeds from this tournament has supported faith-based programs for students and student athletes at TROY. Those programs have had a tremendous impact on our students, and we are pleased to recognize this important annual event in this way.”
The ornament can be purchased for $20. To purchase this year’s ornament or previous ornaments, visit the Troy University Alumni Association website at troy.edu/alumni or contact the Alumni Affairs Office at 334-670-3318.
