Troy University’s Alumni Association Board of Directors will have new leadership effective Jan. 1.
Jack Weaver, who previously served as the Board’s Vice President, will take on the role of President, following the two-year term of Rosemary Elebash. Steve Sanders will serve as the Board’s Vice President, while Jody Singleton will serve as Treasurer. Elebash will take on the role of Immediate Past President.
“I am excited to welcome Judge Jack Weaver as our new Board President,” said Faith Byrd, Director of Alumni Affairs. “Jack’s love and devotion to Troy University has been evident through his many years of service to the Alumni Association, and I look forward to working with him as we continue to strive to advance the missions of the Alumni Association and the University. I am tremendously grateful for the service of our Immediate Past President Rosemary Elebash. Her leadership and dedication to TROY and its alumni has served the Alumni Association well over the last two years.”

Weaver, a 1985 TROY graduate, is the presiding Judge for the Thirty-Fifth Circuit Court of Alabama in Monroe County. He has been a member of the Alumni Board since 2018. To date, 11 members of the Weaver family have received TROY degrees.
Sanders, a 1988 TROY graduate, is Vice President of the First Citizens Bank of Luverne and joined the board in 2017.
Singleton, a 1991 TROY graduate who was a standout on the Trojans’ baseball team in 1990-1991, is owner of Jody M. Singleton, CPA, CGMA, a full service Certified Public Accounting Firm in Headland.
Elebash, a 1976 TROY graduate, has been a member of the Alumni Association Board since 2010 and is state director for the National Federation of Independent Business.
Weaver said he was honored and humbled to serve as President.
“I am honored to have the opportunity to serve as an ambassador for Troy University and to represent the work of TROY and the many lives the University touches, not only to the state of Alabama, but to the nation and around the world,” Weaver said. “I humbly look forward to doing that.”
Weaver said the Board’s commitment to providing opportunities to current and prospective students through scholarships will continue.
“I look forward to encouraging every person to help in our efforts to provide scholarships to students who may not have the financial means to go to college and just need to be given an opportunity,” Weaver said. “I’m dedicated to seeing the board’s emphasis on scholarships continue.”
Weaver encourages all TROY alumni to look for ways to become involved.
“We want their time and their talents,” he said. “I want to encourage them to reach out to the communities in which they live and the people they know to represent Troy University as an opportunity for young people to get an education and better their lives. I plan on representing TROY every way we can, not just financially. Time and talents are a way that our alumni can give back as well.”
