Troy University welcomed new faculty members for the 2018-2019 academic year during Friday’s Faculty/Staff Convocation.

The annual event, which signals the start of a new academic year, was held in the Claudia Crosby Theater on the Troy Campus and live streamed through the University’s website. Term classes at TROY begin on Monday, while classes on the Troy Campus begin on Wednesday.

New faculty members, their rank and their department within the College of Arts and Sciences are:
• Dr. Halil Akbas, assistant professor, Criminal Justice;
• Dr. Melissa Bailey, assistant professor, Political Science;
• LTC Paul Carlock, professor of military science and detachment commander, Army ROTC;
• Lt. Col. Stephen Cox, detachment commander and professor of aerospace studies, Air Force ROTC;
• Dr. Trung Hoa Dinh, assistant professor, Mathematics;
• Dr. Armanda Formigao-Gameiro, lecturer, Chemistry;
• CPT Andrew Freeman, assistant professor of military science and department chair, Army ROTC;
