Troy University’s IDEA Bank has been named Pike County Chamber of Commerce’s 2025 Business of the Year.

Winning the Chamber of Commerce’s award for Business of the Year was particularly meaningful because it’s an award that’s voted on by the Pike County business community,” said IDEA Bank Director Lynne George. “The recognition is validation of our mission to collaborate, support, and innovate. It means what we are doing is making a difference, and that is not only a huge honor, but it is also a motivator to keep growing our programs.”
The Chamber’s membership consists of more than 400 members who join for the purpose of connecting and growing their business.
Other nominees for this year’s award were Jones Medical Supply, Kimber, KW Plastics, PLS Group, Inc., and Troy Regional Medical Center.
TROY’s IDEA Bank exists as a hub for innovation, entrepreneurship and growth. It spurs student ideas, help local businesses scale and encourages creative thinking that turns into real-world impact.
“This award is for our students and because of our students, whose dedication, perseverance and creatives are the driving forces behind everything we do at the IDEA Bank,” George said. “It proves that entrepreneurial spirit does not go unnoticed in our community. Every student, faculty and staff member, or local business owner, who walks through our doors brings something new to the table. The IDEA Bank is constantly growing and evolving, and this award is a testament to that momentum.”
The award was presented during the Chamber’s annual banquet on January 15.
