Ambassador J. Stapleton Roy’s visit to Troy University has been postponed due to a family emergency.
Roy, who served as the top U.S. envoy to Singapore, China and Indonesia, was scheduled to visit this week as a part of the University’s Ambassador-in-Residence program. All events scheduled for the Troy Campus this week have been canceled. The College of Arts and Sciences is working to reschedule his visit.
Dr. Grant Hammond, past president of the Alabama World Affairs Council, will take Roy’s place for Tuesday night’s ALWAC presentation at the Montgomery Campus. Dr. Hammond will present “The Revolution in Security Affairs.” The event will begin with a 5:30 p.m. reception, followed by the presentation, and will be held in the Whitley Hall Gold Room on the Montgomery Campus. For more information, visit the ALWAC website.
