Troy University’s College of Arts & Humanities and John M. Long School of Music will host its annual celebration of International Women’s Day on Tuesday, March 3 at 7 p.m. in the International Arts Center.
This year marks the 5th year of the event, which features musical performances and poetry readings by women who work on the Troy Campus.
Dr. Hui-Ting Yang, Director of the School of Music, shared the vision behind “An International Celebration of Women’s Music and Poetry.”
“The purpose of this event is to foster collaboration between different departments and to showcase, connect, and promote Troy’s talented and gifted female faculty and staff,” Dr. Yang said. “The selection of both poetry and music, by woman poets and composers, focused on various themes through selections of both international music and poetry drawn from the performers’ countries of origin.”
Admission to the event is free. For more information, please contact the International Arts Center at 334-808-6412.
