Troy University’s International Arts Center (IAC) is set to host the fifth annual TROYAPALOOZA, beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 28.
The free event, which is open to anyone from the University, will take place on the Peace Dove Plaza, located behind the IAC, and in the amphitheater in Janice Hawkins Cultural Arts Park.

TROYAPALOOZA will include a concert at 7 p.m. by POPulus, TROY’s student-led music ensemble from the Music Industry Program. The event will also include t-shirt screen printing, a photo booth, interactive art, a Halloween costume contest with prizes and food, including hamburgers, hot dogs, nachos, pizza, funnel cakes and fried Oreos.
Carrie Jaxon, Director and Curator of the IAC and organizer of TROYAPALOOZA, emphasized the event’s focus on the arts.
“TROYAPALOOZA is a chance to celebrate the incredible creativity and talent of our students,” Jaxon said. “From visual art to music, the event showcases the amazing work happening across our campus and brings the Troy community together to enjoy and support the arts.”
TROYAPALOOZA is sponsored by Troy University, the IAC, Department of Art and Design, Troy University Libraries, Student Government Association (SGA), University Activities Council, Student Services, Sorrell College of Business, International Student Services, School of Music, and the College of Education and Behavioral Sciences. The marketing design for the event was created by student Taylor Gray, who won the marketing competition that was held for students within the University’s Department of Art and Design to help promote TROYAPALOOZA.
The event is one of many leading up to Troy University’s Homecoming on Saturday, Nov. 1. The Homecoming Pep Rally will take place at Trojan Arena at 6:00 p.m., and shuttles will be available to transport students from the Pep Rally to TROYAPALOOZA.
