Troy University faculty and staff will show their appreciation for students during the University’s fourth annual Student Appreciation Day on Wednesday.
Students will be able to enjoy free food, prizes and activities at all four of TROY’s campuses in Alabama, and support centers throughout the United States. TROY Online students will also have the opportunity to win prizes throughout the day through Trojan Café.
As a part of Student Appreciation Day, an essay contest will be held through April 14. Four $500 textbook scholarship for use at Barnes & Noble will be awarded to the winning entries. Prizes are provided by Barnes & Noble and the Troy University Alumni Association. An application for the essay contest can be accessed at www.troy.edu/appreciation.
“I extend my thanks to the Faculty Senate for organizing this very important event,” said Dr. Jack Hawkins, Jr., Chancellor. “We maintain that we have two bedrock principles at TROY: first, we are committed to serving our students and the second, we are committed to hiring good people. Strong relationships in the classroom provide the foundation for institutional success, and we want to retain our students and then lead them to graduation. We want to prepare our students to excel and to understand the world around them.”
