Troy University’s San Antonio site has been selected for the 2020 Best of San Antonio Award in the Colleges & Universities category by the San Antonio Award Program.
“It comes as no surprise that the San Antonio Support Center would receive this wonderful recognition, given their dynamic commitment to service. They serve a wide spectrum of prospective students and corporate partners in meeting their unique needs,” said Dean Buddy Starling, who oversees remote sites for TROY. “The San Antonio community is home to a rich and diverse culture, and we are privileged to be able to play a role in something that further enriches the community – lifelong learning.”
Making students in San Antonio feel as though they are connected to the TROY family is a key element for the support center staff there.
“This site’s success is due to having great people in place that love and care about TROY,” said Ali-Reza Rajabzadeh, the area coordinator responsible for the site.
“Helping students achieve their academic goals is not just a job for us, but a passion,” he said.
Each year, the San Antonio Award Program identifies companies that have achieved exceptional marketing success in their local community and business category.
These are local companies that enhance the positive image of small business through service to their customers and our community. These exceptional companies help make the San Antonio area a great place to live, work and play.
Various sources of information were gathered and analyzed to choose the winners in each category. The 2020 San Antonio Award Program focuses on quality, not quantity. Winners are determined based on the information gathered both internally by the San Antonio Award Program and data provided by third parties. The site has also been named the Support Center of the Year 2019 by the University, and staff member Varryron Young was named Recruiter of the Year 2019.
“This award was big for the site to receive because it goes to show that TROY is more than a State of Alabama university. It shows that Troy University strives to provide the best possible education to students anywhere in the world, and it demonstrates the dedication and support our staff members provide our students, regardless of where they are located in the world,” Rajabzadeh said. “I hope this also lets employers know that TROY students are educated just as well – if not better than — the big local universities within San Antonio and are more than capable of filling vital positions.”
