Troy University has been recognized for its commitment to supporting military service members, veterans and their families by Military Times, a source for independent news and information for service members and their families.
TROY was included in the “2025 Best for Vets: Colleges” rankings, coming in 33rd in the Southeast, 74th nationally among traditional universities and in the top three in the state. In all, the rankings recognized 357 colleges and universities nationwide.
“Earning a place in the Military Times Best for Vets rankings is especially meaningful because it represents the trust our service members and veterans place in us,” said Scot Brumbeloe, TROY’s Director of Military and Veteran Affairs. “We are proud to create an environment where military-connected students can thrive academically and personally.”
Military Times collects data from an extensive survey from colleges across the country. Institutions are evaluated on academic quality, student support services, affordability and outcomes for veterans, including graduation and retention rates.
Troy University’s service to the military dates to the 1950s, and the University’s commitment to serving the men and women of the United States military has continued to grow through the years through efforts such as TROY for Troops centers, which seek to meet the unique needs of service men and women and their dependents, the Military and Family Scholarship and annual recognitions during Military Appreciation and Military Family Appreciation months.
Most recently, the University demonstrated its commitment to the military by stepping up when federal funding for Military Tuition Assistance was impacted by the government shutdown to ensure service members could continue their education without interruption through a TA scholarship for eligible service members.
TROY is consistently recognized for its service to the military by publications and organizations such as U.S. News and World Report, G.I. Jobs, OnlineU.com and Abound.
