The Sorrell College of Business and the Entrepreneurship Council are hosting the Fall Business Festival on Saturday, Sept. 21 on the TROY Dothan Campus from noon to 5 p.m.
Advertised as “the most awaited event of the year,” the free festival is meant to promote the Sorrell College of Business and allow local businesses to showcase their products and services.
To register a business, go to entrepreneurshipcouncil.org for the application. The council has a Facebook page in addition to the website where you can also find more information.
According to Mackroyce Corbitt Jr., chairman of the Entrepreneurship Council, interested businesses in the local area can register until Sept. 17.
“The Entrepreneurship Council has been established over eight years now and what we do is educate people on starting a business and owning a business,” Corbitt said.
Corbitt has worked closely with Dr. Richard Voss, Associate Chair of the College of Marketing and Management, who is also the secretary for the Entrepreneurship Council, and the Sorrell College of Business to promote local businesses and support the Dothan community.
“The festival’s purpose is to make people more aware of the local businesses in our area, we wanted to host an event that was fun for the whole family that everybody could come to and support them,” Corbitt said.
In addition to business booths, food and games, there will also be live music from artists Chris Godber, T.K.O., and Mia Shani.
“Entertainment is also a big part of our community,” Corbitt said.
The family friendly event is free to the public with plenty of activity for everyone.
