Troy University is continuing its new tradition of TROY Prom, a virtual dance party hosted by Trojan mascot T-Roy.
The prom is held on the social media app TikTok.
“It’s for graduating high school seniors who are coming to TROY and want to have a little fun and win a little scholarship money, too,” Autumn Baggett-Griggs, the Director of Enrollment Marketing, said.
TROY Prom gives incoming freshmen the opportunity to engage with each other and other TROY students.
“This gives high school seniors a chance to have fun, meet other incoming freshmen, win scholarship money, show off their prom outfits and dance moves with the world,” Baggett-Griggs said. “Last year we saw a lot of really encouraging comments on each of the dance entries.
“It was pretty cool to see people hype each other up and meet their fellow future Trojans.”
The winners will be awarded a $500 scholarship. They will also be mailed a sash with a crown for the King, and a tiara for the Queen.
“We will award the boy and girl with the most video likes 2021 TROY Prom Queen and King,” Baggett-Griggs said.
Incoming high school seniors can participate by recording a TikTok video of themselves copying T-ROY’s prom dance.
Seniors must also tag #troyprom in the caption of the video.

Winners will be announced on Friday at noon by T-ROY on his TikTok account and will receive a direct message with the next steps to collect their prizes.
