Troy University Continuing Ed is now offering a prep course for the Project Management Professional Exam.

A new course being offered by Troy University’s Continuing Education Center will help individuals earn advanced certification in the fast-growing field of project management.

The course will prepare participants to take the Project Management Professional (PMP) Exam. The PMP is a globally recognized certification proving competence and ability to lead projects and teams.

“This certification is applicable to almost every industry,” said Dr. Lee Vardaman, Associate Provost. “Having this will make you more marketable. It shows that you have the expertise to direct complex projects efficiently, which is something employers everywhere are seeking.”

According to the Project Management Institute, people with the PMP credential earn 20-percent more than their non-credentialed counterparts, and more than a million new project management roles will be created globally by 2020.

TROY’s PMP course is being offered online Aug. 19 through Nov. 4, with four in-class sessions at the Montgomery Campus. The instructor, John M. Dennett, Sr., is a manager and logistics engineer with more than 30 years experience in the commercial and government sectors.
