Want to maximize your summer or squeeze in a class to stay on track for graduation? There’s still time to apply for Term 5 at Troy University—applications are open through May 28!

Troy University invites transient students from institutions across the country to take advantage of the summer waiver code SUMMERATTROY25 and enroll in our flexible, convenient online courses that are approved by your home institution and designed to easily transfer back to your transcript.

“Whether you’re catching up or getting ahead, TROY makes it simple to continue your academic journey without missing a beat,” said Staci Hutto, Executive Director for Online and Military Affairs. “Our Admissions team is here to support you every step of the way and help you build a schedule that fits your summer plans.”

The process of becoming a transient student is simple. Transient students go through the same application process as full-time students, but will select “transient student” when prompted to select their student type. Students will also need a transient authorization form that comes from their home institution

“If a student needs Algebra I, they’ll get the transient authorization form from their home institution, and their home institution will verify that our course meets their program requirement,” Hutto said. “Their records office and the student’s advisor will then sign the form and we complete the rest of the application process. It sounds like a long process, but it’s actually very quick and most of the time can be done electronically.”

Term 5 classes begin on Wednesday, May 28 and last for nine weeks—a bonus of transient courses.

“We want to help all of our students, whether they’re with us for a term in the summer or all four years, thrive and stay on the path to graduating on time or whatever type of goal they’re trying to reach,” Hutto said. “We’ve had transient students who only take math classes with us because they need to focus on just that one subject at a time. Whatever the need is, we’re here to help students meet their goal.”
