Close to 1,800 middle school and high school band members representing 30 bands will perform alongside the Sound of the South Marching Band during Troy University’s Band Day on Saturday.
The bands will join the Sound in a special halftime performance during TROY’s game against the Akron Zips. Kickoff for the game is set for 5 p.m. For tickets, call 1-877-878-9467.
“Band Day” began in 1998 and provides high school band students the opportunity to experience performing at the collegiate level.
Participating bands, from schools in Alabama, Georgia and Florida, will assemble at 10 a.m. for a rehearsal with the Sound, and participate in Trojan Walk on Tailgate Terrace before entering the stadium.
Other special activities on Saturday include: Military Appreciation day activities, Special Olympics Day at the Vet, Boy Scouts Day at the Vet and fall Trojan Day, where high school seniors and their parents visit campus to tour campus and learn more about what TROY has to offer.
