Linh Hoang Nhat Kieu graduated in 2024 and was accepted into a graduate program at a French business school.

After graduating magna cum laude from Troy University’s Bachelor of International Affiliated Business Administration program at the University of Economics & Business – Vietnam National University (VNU-UEB) in Hanoi, Linh Hoang Nhat Kieu used the skills the program gave her to take her education to the next level with the goal of pursuing a career that can have global impact.

Crediting the enthusiasm, dedication and practical knowledge of the faculty, Linh said the program prepared her with a solid understanding of project management, sustainability and finance and while also “significantly enhancing” her soft skills.

“The international-standard learning environment is what impressed me the most. I had the opportunity to practice and use English throughout my studies…and in every course I was able to hone my public speaking skills through group presentations,” she said. “This greatly improved my presentation abilities and boosted my confidence in communication—essential skills that helped me quickly integrate with international peers when participating in exchange programs.”

Over the course of her exchange program visiting Koç University in Turkey, Linh was able to visit Cappadocia, a city known for its hot air balloon festival, and tour the Mediterranean in addition to her academic studies.

“The study exchange journey was one of the most exciting and memorable experiences of my time in the BSBA program,” she said. “Not only did it provide me with new academic knowledge, it also enriched my life experience through various travel adventures.”

After initially studying in the United States, Linh decided to return home to Vietnam after COVID-19. Located in her home city, offering a US diploma with courses in English and accepting transfer credits from her previous university, the program offered the best of two worlds.

“The BSBA TROY program at UEB was exactly what I needed at that time,” she said. “Being enrolled in both TROY and VNU-UEB gave me access to the resources and benefits of both institutions, like the TROY e-library and the semester exchange opportunities from VNU-UEB. Additionally, Troy University is well-known globally, which is important for my future goal of applying for jobs in the international market.”

To other students considering joining the BSBA program, Linh’s advice is to embrace the journey with an open mind and a willingness to learn, to be prepared to be challenged to grow and to seize the opportunities that come their way.

“As a student in these programs, you will be exposed to a wealth of knowledge that goes beyond textbooks, including real-world case studies, hands-on projects, and interactions with experienced faculty and industry professionals,” she said. “The dual exposure to both an American and a Vietnamese educational environment will broaden your perspective, enhance your adaptability and equip you with the skills needed to thrive in a globalized business world.”

Linh is currently enrolled in the Project Management in Business Development master’s program at the Skema Business School in France, the only MSc in a French business school accredited by the PMI’s Global Accreditation Center for Project Management Education Programs.

After obtaining her master’s degree, she plans to work for sustainable projects of multinational companies and is particularly passionate about projects that promote environmental sustainability, social responsibility, and long-term economic growth.

“By aligning with the values and objectives of forward-thinking organizations, I aim to make a meaningful impact on global challenges such as climate change, resource management and equitable economic development,” she said. “My career trajectory is centered on not just contributing to the profitability of the organizations I work for, but also ensuring that their growth aligns with sustainable practices that benefit both the environment and society.”
