Video editor with Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato credits named as keynote of YellowHammer Film Festival

Video editor Chloe Scrushy will be the keynote speaker for the fifth annual YellowHammer Film Festival at TROY on October 29.

Scrushy is a Los Angeles-based editor with London Alley, a production company known for many of today’s standout music videos and commercial campaigns. She began her career in client services and quickly advanced through roles including vault manager and assistant editor before becoming a lead editor. 

Her credits as both editor and assistant editor feature work for brands such as Swarovski, Marc Jacobs, Mercedes-Benz, Kia, Olipop, Urban Decay and Adobe; artists including Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato, SZA, Kacey Musgraves, Ed Sheeran, Nicki Minaj, Doja Cat, Luke Combs and Tate McRae; as well as content for the films Barbie (2023), Twisters (2024) and F1: The Movie (2025). She was honored to be part of the team behind Ariana Grande’s “Brighter Days Ahead,” which won Video of the Year at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards.

Scrushy joins the lineup of guest speakers at next week’s Yellowhammer Film Festival 5 which include KJ Mathieson, animation professor from University of Central Florida; Academy Award-nominated Ty Primosch, pre-vis artist from Netflix Animation Studios and the multi-award-winning director Phyn Joel, independent filmmaker.

Sponsors for this year’s festival include well-known names in the film industry including BlackMagic Design, Freewell, Rokinon, AngelBird, Alabama Film Office and the presenting sponsor, local media design company Studio 207. These sponsors are combining for more than $10,000 worth of support, prizes and awards for the festival and filmmakers.

The YellowHammer Film Festival is an enriching interactive experience for high school and college students that consists of workshops, presentations, a keynote speaker, a student film exhibition and an awards ceremony. Anyone can attend the daylong festival free of charge, but only students can compete in the exhibition. 

This year’s festival will be held on October 29 from 3 p.m. – 10 p.m. in the International Arts Center on TROY’s campus and will also be available online via Zoom.
