I’d like to welcome you all to the Troy University Dothan Campus library and Wiregrass Archives! Like all of the Troy University Libraries — Troy, Montgomery or Online — we’re here to advance the instructional, research and public service missions of the University. I invite you to take advantage of our services and partner with our academic faculty and staff to accomplish your goals.

Besides all the traditional things libraries are known for, books, databases, and DVDs, it’s our vision to develop a knowledge enterprise – a large makerspace of sorts, facilitating formal and informal instruction, collaboration of faculty and students, and providing quiet (and, yes, noisy) and even virtual spaces for information exchange and learning. We, ourselves, are lifelong learners and our libraries are far more than book warehouses. We are significant contributors to student enrollment, retention and academic success.

Besides serving in my role as Director of Library Services, I’m enrolled in the Doctor of Public Administration program at Valdosta State University. I am also an assistant professor and my research encompasses virtual, embedded librarianship and its effects within TroyONLINE. I am interested in the empirical assessment of library services, and how the institution contributes to a measurable ROI.

Personally, I wish to thank Dr. Chris Shaffer and all of the faculty, staff and administration who have made my transition (and relocation!) a smooth one. If you’re ever in the area and want to grab a cup of coffee, it would be a pleasure, and I would enjoy hearing your feedback on how we can evolve.
