This year has been a year full of new opportunities and big moments for the Trojan family.
From the best football season in Troy’s FBS history, to many new additions around campus, there have been countless moments for all Trojans to be proud of during the 2017-18 school year.

1. Trojan Center Remodel
Students were welcomed to campus in the fall with a remodel of the Trojan Center Food Court. The renovations included new tables and a face lift to the entire food court with the additions of new food options such as Steak and Shake, Marble Slab Creamery, Great American Cookie and a TC location of Boars Head.

2. Solar Eclipse
On Monday, Aug. 21, Trojans gathered on the quad with solar eclipse glasses to view the first total solar eclipse in the United States since 1918.

3. A New Sorority
The Troy Greek community welcomed a new chapter with the addition of Alpha Omicron Pi.

4. “We just beat LSU!”
Trojan fans traveled to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on Sept. 30, to watch the football team take on the LSU Tigers. The Trojans went in to Death Valley 20.5-underdogs and walked away with a convincing 24-21 victory.

5. Graduation
Fall commencement was one to remember. On Dec. 15, Sara Shoffner received the first Doctor of Philosophy degree from Troy earning her Ph. D. in Sport Management. The key note speaker for the graduation ceremony was alumnus Demarcus Ware, who was presented with an honorary doctorate.

6. Increased Parking
Construction for a new parking lot began over the summer and was completed by the beginning of the spring semester. The new lot located across from the Trojan Center is now the largest commuter lot with 548 spaces. With the closing of the Sartain lot the university still gained 300 spaces.

7. Champions
After the victory over LSU the Trojans went on to have a program best 11-2 season capturing a share of the Sun Belt title and a win in the New Orleans Bowl.

8. Snow Days
Troy saw snow and a frozen fountain a couple of times throughout the winter. Winter Storm Inga brought an unusual wintry mix to the southeast, canceling or delaying university hours for three days the week of Jan. 17.

9. The Largest Graduating Class in School History
The spring graduating class at the Troy Campus was one for the record books, with about 950 students graduating, representing 10 states and 26 nations.
