Mary Beth Moore, a sophomore dance major from Alabaster was crowned Miss Troy University 2017 on Saturday, Oct. 22, during the 46th annual pageant on the Troy Campus.
“I am so excited and honored to be representing my college as Miss Troy University for the next year,” Moore said. “I’m really looking forward to getting to know people on campus and in the community, and seeing what this journey has to offer me.”

Twelve students competed for the crown during the pageant, which was held in the Claudia Crosby Theater. Contestants were judged on a private interview, an on-stage question, swimsuit, talent and evening gown.
She was crowned by TROY Chancellor Dr. Jack Hawkins, Jr., and Miss Troy University 2016 Leah Livingston.
Also receiving honors were: first runner-up Bridgette Howell, a sophomore broadcast journalism major from Dothan; second runner-up Angelene Kendall, a senior dance major from Hershey, Pa.; third runner-up Ashli Morris, a junior international politics major from Athens; and fourth runner-up Carlie Spencer, a senior mathematics major from Montgomery.
