TROY alumnus named Florida Literary Legend

Craig Pittman, a 1981 Troy University graduate, Florida native, author and columnist for the Tampa Bay Times, has been named the Florida Heritage Book Festival Board’s Literary Legend 2020.

His acceptance of an award with a significant title like “Legend” has yet to fully sink in for the environmentally conscious nonfiction book writer.

TROY alumna preparing for World Marathon Challenge

Dr. Jessica Jones has run a long way from her hometown of Sulphur Springs, Indiana (population 374), and next week she will be running around the globe.

The 1999 Troy University graduate and microbiologist will compete in the World Marathon Challenge, a challenge in which competitors run seven marathons on seven continents in seven days.

Alumna garners award as first-time book author

TROY alumna Chellie W. Phillips recently won a 2019 Author Academy Award in the category of Self-Help for her book, “When In Doubt, Delete It!”

Phillips, a 1991 graduate of the Hall School of Journalism, received the award at the recent Author Academy Awards ceremony held at the Hilton Columbus/Polaris, in Columbus, Ohio.
