A native of the Czech Republic, Dr. Jiří Minarčík arrived to the U.S. in September to begin his Fulbright journey.

Over his last seven months as a Fulbright Scholar, Dr. Jiří Minarčík has traveled across the United States speaking to students eager to learn and fellow math-minded researchers. During his week in Troy, Alabama, he gave lectures and met University officials, but also tried banana pudding and fried okra for the first time.

TROY's Department of Mathematics hosted MathFest on the Troy Campus April 13-14.

TROY's Department of Mathematics hosted MathFest on the Troy Campus April 13-14.

MathFest, held in John Robert Lewis Hall over the weekend, included various presentations exploring the applications of mathematics, competitions and a browse session.
