Troy University will celebrate 10 years of dance at the University with a show titled “Together We” this week at the Trojan Center Theater.

The shows take place Feb. 21-23 at 7 p.m. and Feb. 24 at 2:30 p.m.

More than 20 dancers from Troy University’s Department of Theatre and Dance performed in the inaugural Alabama Minority Choreographers Festival and Alabama Festival of Ballet, held Sept. 14 and 15 at the Davis Theatre on TROY’s Montgomery Campus.

In addition to 25 current dancers, three alumni and two faculty members participated in the weekend festivals.

Veshonte Brown won a $5,000 cash prize and a one-year paid internship to the theater of her choice, the Williamstown Festival in Massachusetts.

A TROY student who has “worn several different hats” in the theater and graphic design departments has become the first recipient of the John Cauble College of Fellows Award for Arts Leadership from the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival.

The national award recognizes students who demonstrate leadership in the arts.
