Craig Pittman, a TROY alumnus and author of the new book 'Cat Tale,' was recently named a Literary Legend by the Florida Heritage Book Festival Board.

Craig Pittman, a 1981 Troy University graduate, Florida native, author and columnist for the Tampa Bay Times, has been named the Florida Heritage Book Festival Board’s Literary Legend 2020.

His acceptance of an award with a significant title like “Legend” has yet to fully sink in for the environmentally conscious nonfiction book writer.

Hurricane Michael devastated parts of Jackson County, which is one of several Florida counties receiving application fee waivers at TROY.

With many current and prospective Troy University students living in areas affected by Hurricane Michael, University officials have announced an extension of the institution’s deadline for scholarships, to ensure all interested applicants have a chance to apply.
