More than 30 Troy University students applied for a chance to join an extracurricular reading program through the Sorrell College of Business’ Johnson Center for Political Economy to explore capitalism versus socialism this fall.

The program is funded by a $4,000 grant from the Acton Institute for the Study of Religion and Liberty’s Mini-Grants on Free Market Economics program .

TROY gave books to Dothan preschoolers at the city's downtown library thanks to a W.K. Kellogg Foundation grant.

TROY gave books to Dothan preschoolers at the city's downtown library thanks to a W.K. Kellogg Foundation grant.

About 40 4-year-olds from the Dothan area received gift bags from Troy University at the main branch of the Dothan Houston County Library on Thursday morning.

The gift bags included the book “Brown Bear, Brown Bear,” book bags with the New York Times logo on them, and custom-made T-shirts.
