Troy University students help provide “P.E time” for local home school students

Every Friday the John Lewis Quad turns into a playground for local home school students.

Home school students from all over Troy visit the campus every Friday to get fifty minutes of P.E. time from Troy University physical education and health education students.

Due to the coronavirus, the TROY students were having trouble finding schools to go into to get their required observation hours. Seeing her student struggle lecturer Lana Johnson came up with a solution.

“We had some parents in our church that homeschooled their children,” said lecturer Lana Johnson. “So I asked can we borrow your kids for a minute and give my students a chance to actually teach and it blossomed from there.”
