TROY, Ala. (TROJANVISION) — Troy University’s Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., kicked off its Zeta Week celebration Tuesday with its annual Pie a Dove event.
The event gave Troy University students an opportunity to show their appreciation for members of the sorority’s undergraduate chapter, Zeta Mu.
The event also allowed students to purchase pies and throw them at participating sorority members while taking a break from their busy class schedules.
According to chapter members, Zeta Week provides an opportunity to promote the organization, strengthen its presence on campus and show appreciation for the Troy community.
“Zeta Week is just a way to show love to our chapter and make our name known around campus,” said Kira Cooley, a Zeta Phi Beta member.

The week also serves as an opportunity for members to connect with the surrounding community.
“For our chapter, it’s just our way of showing love to our community and showing love to Troy,” Colley said.
Kira Cooley said Pie a Dove is about more than fundraising. The event also gives students an opportunity to enjoy themselves and lift their spirits between classes.
Throughout the week, members have also hosted a movie night and participated in a community service event at Serenity South in Troy.
Additional activities for Zeta Week also included Trick or TKE: Zweet Edition and an event focused on breast cancer awareness.
Through its events and community involvement, Zeta Phi Beta’s Zeta Mu chapter hopes to continue building connections with students and the Troy community.
