Last Thursday Troy police and fire departments responded to a call at Charles Henderson Middle School… a call to play football.
The departments joined rising seventh-graders on the field for a game of flag football to help benefit the CHMS football program.
The game was held as a fundraiser but also a way to give the rising seventh graders a chance to get some action on the field.
“We had this event due to the fact that our sixth graders couldn’t play in the spring game but at the same time we wanted to do something to bring our community together,” says Head Coach Fred Burton. “By bringing the fire department and the police department together with our uprising and seventh graders I think that’s a good way to bridge our community together.”
