Fireworks fill the skies over Troy for the city’s annual fireworks display.

For many Independence Day wouldn’t be complete without some fireworks and the City of Troy was happy to oblige.

The city put on their annual Independence Day fireworks display Sunday night in the skies over Troy University‘s Veterans Memorial Stadium.

The loosening of COVID restrictions this year meant more people could attend the show in person and many took advantage of the chance to see the display.

“During COVID there was a lot more restrictions and we stayed home and celebrated,” says attendee Gabby Esquivel. “Now that we feel better being vaccinated and everything, I was able to bring my grandmother out all the way from Virginia just to be here so it’s a lot more emotional.”
