Alabama Broadcasters Association gives $50K to endow journalism scholarship at Troy University.

The Alabama Broadcasters Association made a donation to Troy University Wednesday that will go toward helping TROY journalism students pay for their studies.

The ABA presented a check for $50,000 Wednesday morning in TROY TrojanVision‘s Earl Hutto Studio.

The donation will endow scholarships to be given to students enrolled in the Hall School of Journalism.

ABA president Sharon Tinsley says this endowment is a way to help ensure there is an opportunity for all future journalists to learn.

“This is the foundation for the next generation of journalists,” says Tinsley. “Its making sure that programs like the curriculum here in the Hall School of Journalism are accessible to students and through this endowment, which is all about scholarship, making sure that people who wouldn’t have access to this kind of education have it.”
