College Colors Day celebrates the start of the college football in Alabama.

Wearing cardinal to a game in Veterans Memorial Stadium shows support for the Trojan Football team however wearing school colors the day before the first game can mean a little more.

The Friday before the start of the college football season is College Colors Day in Alabama, a day set aside by a proclamation from Gov. Key Ivey to celebrate the state’s public colleges and universities.

“College colors day is an event put on by the Higher Education Partnership for all the public state schools in the state of Alabama,” says Troy University Student Government Association President Maxwell George. “Basically our day to be able to show our school pride, school joy, our trojan spirit here at TROY of why we love TROY.”
