Student Government Association hosts annual Easter Egg Hunt

TROY, Ala. (TROJANVISION) — The Troy University Student Government Association recently welcomed families to the Janice Hawkins Cultural Arts Park for its annual Faculty and Staff Easter Egg Hunt.

The event featured a festive balloon arch, Easter-themed music, face painting, and family-friendly activities leading up to the main attraction: the highly-anticipated Easter egg hunt.

This year’s celebration was much larger compared to previous years. The hunt stretched across a larger portion of the park, beginning at the amphitheater stage and extending to the front entrance where the walking trails meet University Avenue.

Organizers said the expansion was intentional, and was meant to create a more engaging experience for families.

SGA senator Zaria Abston said feedback from last year’s event inspired the this year’s growth.

“Last year the idea of making it bigger came up. I came and saw that a lot of the kids were like, ‘That was it?’ So we wanted to make it bigger this year. Go big or go home. That was our motto.”

SGA members said the event reflects their commitment to strengthening campus community connections and creating meaningful experiences beyond the classroom.
