Troy University‘s Chi Omega sorority enlisted the assistance of some canine friends to help raise money for Make-A-Wish.
Smooches for Pooches gave visitors the chance to pay five dollars to play with dogs brought over from Troy’s animal shelter.
“Any money we raise through this event and from our events throughout the entire week goes directly to Make-A-Wish Alabama so this is a fun way to get students involved and to give back to a really awesome charity,” says Chi Omega sister Savana Griffin. “And it’s also really good for the humane shelter because it socializes the puppies. Next week we’re actually going to do a drive for them so anything they need we’re going to try to fulfill those needs and all these dogs here are adoptable. So anyone who falls in love with the dog here can head back to the shelter fill out the paperwork and take them home with them today.”
The money raised will go towards the Make-A-Wish foundation which grants wishes to children facing critical illnesses.
“Our goal is to raise $26,000 to grant three wishes this week so all these kids get to go wherever they want to go be whoever they want to be and just get that awesome experience,” says Chi Omega sister Abby Hollis.
