This week Troy University will wish a big happy birthday to the Hall School of Journalism and Communication.
The school is celebrating its 50th anniversary and this week is all about commemorating this milestone for students and faculty and reflecting on the accomplishments of the Hall School of Journalism and Communication.
“50 years of academic excellence, we’re excited about that,” says Interim Director Dr. Amanda Diggs. “A lot of people don’t know that the Hall School of Journalism was originally housed in the English department back in 1970 so about 1971 we were commissioned to be the Hall School of Journalism.”
This Friday will be a jam-packed day for students and faculty in the Hall School of Journalism and Communication.
Several activities are planned throughout the day starting with the unveiling of the new logo and slogan by Chancellor Jack Hawkins, Jr.
“Last year the Chancellor commissioned a group to launch a contest and so students from all around the university were able to design or submit ideas for a slogan for the School of Journalism and Communication and you’ll find out who is the winner and what the slogan is on Friday,” says Diggs.
