Troy University students hold voter registration drive for National Voter Registration Day

September 20 was National Voter Registration Day and a group of Troy University students were celebrating the day by registering students to vote using some new technology.

The days of paper registration are over.

Now it’s as simple as scanning a QR code on your phone and filling out an online form.

Troy University’s Office of Civic Engagement and the Democracy Project teamed up with “All in To Vote” for the national holiday.

“At the office of Civic Engagement we wanted to set up on the quad and give students an opportunity to learn more about the process,” says Coordinator of Civic Engagement Lauren Cochran. “We have different QR codes they can scan that’s connected with the “All-In to Vote” initiative, which is a national organization that promotes active voter participation.”
