TROY, Ala. (TROJANVISION) — Troy University Athletics kicked off the new football season during this year’s Troy Football Women’s Clinic.
Women from across the Troy area learned about TROY football and this year’s leadership team. Guests also spoke with Troy Head Football Coach Jon Sumrall and his wife, Ginny.
“We are going to give these women an opportunity to see what it what our offensive scheme looks like, what our defensive scheme looks like, what special teams looks like,” Ginny Sumrall explained.
Coach Sumrall said the clinic is a way for the general public to learn about the wives of the coaching staff and the effort they put into each season.
“She has a great vision for what people want to see or what they don’t want to see,” said Jon Sumrall. “It’s also a great opportunity for our coaching staff wives to connect with the general public and show them what their lifestyle is like.”
Women were given a tour of the different facilities used by the football team and were able test their own football abilities during drills and plays.
