TROY, Ala. (TROJANVISION) — Tuesday evening the brothers of choice Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity held their annual Stroll like an Alpha event in Crosby theater.

During the competition, female TROY students learned the brothers’ strolls and performed in front of an audience and panel of judges.

“All we do is just show the girls how to stroll like Alphas and then they come out here and present,” explained Alpha Phi Alpha brother Christian Brown. “It’s just a friendly game.”

Three teams were led by different members in the fraternity. They competed in a number of different skits, step teases, and strolls. Then, they were judged on a number of different criteria to determine and a winner.

“Basically just who has the most energy, of course, presentation and the theme,” Brown said. “I know for my team especially, their name is Frozen Creed from the boxing movie “Creed.” Energy and how they present themselves.”

Brown told TrojanVision that he is proud of the girls for working together and retaining what they learned over the past few weeks.

“Long nights of practice that we had could just show diligence. A lot of movements that Alphas have it’s kind of difficult to learn so for those girls to learn those within four to five weeks is pretty hard.”

Delia Lucious was part of Tuesday’s show. She said she is proud of the friendships that she made along the way.

“It was really just a just a fun thing to do, Get out meet new people and just a different experience.”
