TROY drops weekend rivalry series to South Alabama

TROY, Ala. (TROJANVISION) — The TROY baseball team finally returned home to Riddle-Pace Field after 12 games and almost a month on the road.

However, the Jaguars of South Alabama rained on the homecoming parade by winning the first two games out of the three game set. Fortunately, the Trojans were able to take back a redeeming game three.

“It was just a really good tough, gritty win by our guys,” said Head Coach Skyler Meade. “I expected nothing less of these guys, they were neck and neck all series.”

After their 6-6 road trip, the Trojans can finally settle in back home again. The team has another game on home turf Tuesday afternoon at 3:33. The Trojans won’t hit the road again until Friday.

“I look at my bag and I go, ‘Okay, I can at least start to unpack this thing’,” Meade said. “We’ve had the same clothes, and uniforms, and roadies for weeks.”

Home field action continues when the Trojans take on Florida A&M at 3:33 p.m. Tuesday at Riddle-Pace Field.
