Trojans fall to Terriers, see controversial call

TROY, Ala. (TROJANVISION) — Despite the Trojans’ best efforts, the Troy baseball team fell to the Woffard Terriers during its one-game matchup Tuesday night.

The Terries routed the 17th-ranked Trojans in only eight innings, winning 14-3.

Wofford dominated Troy, compiling over 13 hits while Troy committed two defensive errors.

Troy was only trailing by one after the bottom of the third. However, the third was the last time Troy had a chance at the lead as the Terriers went on to score ten unanswered runs.

Then in the fifth inning, after a controversial out call at first base, head coach Skylar Meade was ejected. Due to NCAA rules, Meade was required to the leave Riddle-Pace Field.

From then on, the Trojans struggled to get momentum back on their side.

The Trojans fell to 18-7, but have a chance to get back into the win column when they travel to Tallahassee to take on Florida A&M Rattlers Wednesday at 3 p.m.
